DIS is proud to announce the first publication of a German case in the CLOUT (Case Law on UNCITRAL Texts) database, in all official UN languages. This is the result of a partnership the UNCITRAL Secretariat and the DIS concluded in July 2024 and sets the stage for DIS contributions to the CLOUT database.
This CLOUT case emerged from the German Arbitration Digest (GAD), a joint initiative of DIS and DIS40 to make internationally relevant German arbitration-related decisions available to a global audience. GAD disseminates case law from a major model law jurisdiction, which assists courts and parties in other jurisdictions that have based their arbitration law on the UNCITRAL Model Law. Additionally, GAD provides testimony of the arbitration-friendly practice of German courts.
DIS is indebted to current and past DIS40 Co-chairs Evgenia Peiffer, Marie C. Grueger, Nadja Harraschain, Polina Lehmann and Christian Steger-von Förster for taking the lead in this important endeavour to further expand the reach of the German Arbitration Digest.
