Practitioners and academics from near and far gathered in Germany’s capital from 9-12 September 2024 for the third annual Berlin Dispute Resolution Days.
Founded as a means of international exchange on alternative dispute resolution in 2022 in collaboration with independent practitioners, the German Arbitration Institute and its under-40 arm (the “DIS” and “DIS40” respectively) together with Humboldt University of Berlin, the now yearly event has quickly become a fixture in the disputes conference calendar, with collaboration also expanding to include the German Ministry of Justice.
The Berlin Dispute Resolution Days was anchored around the DIS’ Autumn Conference and offered participants the opportunity to engage in more than 30 “side events” across Berlin running the gamut from industry-, sector-, country- and region-specific panels, to practice-oriented discussions, networking opportunities, cultural activities, and even a firm launch.
Highlights of the week included:
In an effort to maximize green travel, flexible rail transport could be arranged for event participants allowing ticket holders the opportunity to travel up to two days before and after the conference.
This year’s organizing committee was composed of Jennifer Bryant, Alessndro Covi, Richard Happ, Courtney Lotfi, and Alicja Zielinska-Eisen.
