Multi-Tier Clauses are an increasingly common feature in international dispute resolution. At the same time, such clauses may raise intricate legal and practical questions as this year’s Vis case shows.

The German Arbitration Institute (DIS) has since long offered rules for the entire tool box of dispute resolution. In particular, the DIS was the first institution which had developed independent Conflict Management Rules which have just seen their first application. Its rules on expert determination and adjudication have played an important role in the creation of the lasted UNCITRAL initiatives in the field.

We kindly invite you for breakfast and for a vivid discussion about early and efficient resolution of international commercial disputes through the various means of ADR. Discuss with us which considerations influence the drafting and application of such clauses and the relevant ADR rules. Learn more about the DIS’ tool box for dispute resolution and the new UNCITRAL Rules in the field.
