On 19 November 2024, the German Arbitration Institute (DIS), in collaboration with the Bonn Faculty Group of the European Law Students' Association (ELSA Bonn e.V.), welcomed students from the University of Bonn for a unique opportunity to gain insight into the exciting field of arbitration.
The event kicked off with a warm introduction by Chun-Kyung Paulus Suh, who set the stage for the evening. Following this, our counsel Vivien Herrmann and Andrea Windemuth led an interactive presentation on the key aspects of arbitration. By using real-life case studies and providing practical examples, they helped the participants understand how arbitration functions in practice, both from a procedural and institutional perspective.
The session encouraged an active exchange of ideas, with participants posing questions and engaging with the counsel on various aspects of arbitration. This made for a dynamic and informative session that left participants with a solid understanding of the subject.
Following the lecture, the event continued with a casual get-together, offering participants a chance to further discuss the topics covered, connect with the speakers, and network with their peers in a relaxed environment.
