On 29 June 2023, the DIS and the German Federal Ministry of Justice will again host their biennial conference in Karlsruhe, this time focusing on the convergence of arbitration and state courts. On the one hand, state jurisdiction is converging with arbitration, as shown in particular by the planned introduction of Commercial Courts. On the other hand, recent case law brings arbitration closer to state jurisdiction in certain areas. What are the implications for Germany as a dispute resolution location?
