On 6 June 2024, a group of sports management students from the Fresenius University of Applied Sciences (Cologne and Düsseldorf) made a visit to the German Arbitration Institute (DIS).
The visit took place as a part of the course “Fundamentals of Sports Law” led by Martin Schimke, who has been a member of the International Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne (CAS/TAS) since 1999 and was a member of the so-called ad hoc divisions of the CAS/TAS during the Olympic Games in London 2012 and PyeongChang 2018. The students learned about the work of the German Court of Arbitration for Sport and the numerous connections that can also exist in the field of sports management, e.g. in the drafting of contracts. At the end of the meeting, a pleasant get-together took place in the most beautiful setting at the premises of the DIS.
