Dear Members and Friends of the DIS,

The past month has been eventful and busy, and I am pleased to share with you some of the key moments and activities. The highlight was certainly our Spring Conference on "Protecting the Procedural Integrity of Arbitral Proceedings" with over 330 participants. It was great to see such a diverse and vibrant arbitration community in beautiful Hamburg. Your enthusiasm and contributions made the event not only a success, but a memorable gathering of our members and friends.

For those who were unable to attend the subsequent General Assembly held on 3 May 2024: A heartfelt thank you to all our members for your tireless efforts over the past year! Your involvement and support over the last few months have been invaluable. In particular, the activities and events you have organised in our various country, industry and practice groups are strengthening our network and moving the DIS forward.

We have also strengthened the DIS team in our Bonn office. I am pleased to introduce Andrea Windemuth, the newest member of our Case Management team. Andrea's extensive expertise and experience is a great addition to our team and will enhance our collective efforts.  You can read more about Andrea's background and role below.

In other good news from the Secretariat, we have reached a milestone: 1,000 DIS proceedings have been administered by us since 1 January 2018, the year in which the revised DIS Arbitration Rules came into force! This achievement not only reflects the robustness of the DIS Rules, but also underlines the confidence in our institution.

Looking ahead, please mark your calendars for our second DIS Summer Party in Bonn on 28 June 2024. After last year's great success, we look forward to continuing this wonderful tradition. It is a perfect opportunity to relax, socialise and catch up, and I am particularly looking forward to meeting many of you, hearing your valuable feedback and discussing ideas on how we can make DIS even better.

I look forward to seeing you there.

Warm regards,

Ramona Schardt
