The Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot is the largest and most prestigious competition for law students to foster the study and practice of international commercial arbitration.
With close to 400 participating teams from all over the world it brings every year around 3500 students and arbitrators to Vienna. (For further detail see the official Vis Moot video)
The DIS has since years been very active in educating the next generation of arbitration practitioners and users. It has thus supported the Vis Moot in many ways, both as a sponsoring institution and through its members who acted as arbitrators. Also this year, where the problem concerns a cybersecurity controversy administered under the ICC Arbitration Rules, the DIS organizes and supports many Vis Moot related events.

During your work on the Vis Problem have you ever asked yourself whether it would not have been better for the Parties to try to settle their dispute? Perhaps in a mediation? What might have prevented them from doing so? And how would they have to prepare for such a mediation. The DIS gives you the unique opportunity to find the answer to that questions in a two day workshop.
More information on each event will follow soon.
