The long-awaited Act on the Modernisation of Arbitration Law has regrettably fallen into discontinuity with the end of the 20th legislative period. The DIS board had been actively involved in the legislative process and had submitted constructive comments on both the white paper and the draft bill.
We will continue to advocate for the modernisation of German arbitration law. We took a first step before February’s German Bundestag elections and asked the parties represented in the Bundestag, through their parliamentary groups, for their position on the bill and on commercial arbitration. We have published the responses, which were largely in favour of the reform, here (in German).
