Lunch DIScussions: 2024 IBA Guidelines on Conflicts of Interest in International Arbitration

DIS-Event

16. May 2024

Organizer: DIS

In the May session of the Lunch DIScussions, Alice Fremuth-Wolf, Head of Austria & CEE at Nivalion and former Secretary General of VIAC, Jan Heiner Nedden of Hanefeld Rechtsanwälte and Chun-Kyung Paulus Suh, Deputy Secretary General and Head of Case Management of DIS, will discuss the brand-new 2024 IBA Guidelines on Conflicts of Interest in International Arbitration.

What are the main changes in the 2024 version compared to the 2014 version? Have the standards of independence and impartiality changed over the last ten years? Has life become easier for arbitrators of larger law firms – or even more difficult? Those are just some of the questions which the revision of the IBA Guidelines raises and which the session will examine.

Join us for a comprehensive discussion of what arbitrators and the parties should bear in mind when the next arbitral tribunal is to be constituted and when issues of conflicts of interest arise.
