German-China Trade Day

On 12 July 2024 the "German-China Trade Day" will take place in Berlin.  The law firm Dentons will host the DIS China Committee, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) for this event.

It will start at 14:00, featuring opening speeches by prominent figures such as Minister Yu Jianlong, Vice Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and Executive Vice Chairman of CIETAC, along with a representative from the DIS and a senior diplomat from the Chinese Embassy in Berlin.

There will be two presentations. Chengjie Wang, Secretary General of CIETAC, will discuss the new rules and developments in CIETAC practices. Heiko Heppner, Head of the DIS China Committee and Co-Head of Dentons (Europe) International Arbitration Practice, will present on the constructive role of arbitral institutions in trade-related disputes. The event will continue with a panel discussion focusing on procedural efficiency and the enforcement of arbitral awards, moderated by Miao Lin, Managing Director of ACT Applied Carbon Technology GmbH.

A second panel discussion topic will be confirmed shortly. German-China Trade Day offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into the latest developments in trade and arbitration in both China and Germany, to network with legal professionals and commercial executives from both countries and engage in meaningful discussions with experts at the forefront of international trade and arbitration.
