Alternative dispute resolution (ADR) has an important social function. Through ADR, companies can obtain legal protection and operate more efficiently. ADR methods can be used to prevent a dispute from arising in the first place, to minimize negative consequences of existing disputes and to deliver practical solutions. In order to fulfil our role as a responsible arbitration institution, we place particular emphasis on basic values such as independence, neutrality, integrity, transparency and gender equality.

Everyone in the DIS team is passionate about preserving these values and keeping them alive so that actors in business, sports and other areas of society can fully understand and utilise the contemporary methods of ADR.

We are working on numerous projects to further our development and prepare for the future needs of the economy, society and international cooperation. Only with the right tools can we sustainably promote and shape arbitration in Germany. These projects include networking and cooperation, the exchange of experiences and further education, publications, promoting gender equality and the optimization of internal structures and processes.

Accordingly, the DIS is committed to its strategy of continuous improvement to ensure a sustainable and effective structure for our association.
