The German Arbitration Institute (DIS) takes the protection of your personal data seriously. This Privacy Policy describes why and how we process personal data we collect in connection with the DIS membership services as well as through our website.

Please note that we also have a separate Arbitration Privacy Policy, which describes our privacy practices with regard to our role as arbitration institute.

Current information about Brexit

Shortly before the expiry of the transition period  on June 30, 2021, the EU Commission published its decision (adequacy decision) establishing an appropriate level of data protection for the UK in relation to the EU. This means that data transfers to the UK are treated as though the UK were still a member of the EU.

In this respect - apart from the potential requirement of a data protection agreement - no special contractual provisions nor a complete discontinuation of data transfers to the UK are required.

The DIS is the entity responsible for the data processing activities described in this Privacy Policy, also known as the “data controller.” If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, our Arbitration Privacy Policy or our privacy practices, please do not hesitate to contact us:
